Self-hosted network
monitoring, live.

At its core, TingPing watches the hosts and services you care about — ping, TCP, HTTP, DNS — streaming every result to your browser in real time. It goes further with a built-in device panel that diagnoses your own machine's network: interface, gateway, DNS, Wi‑Fi, and public IP. One process, no database, no cloud, no bill.

Why TingPing

Everything you need, nothing you don't

A single lightweight process gives you the visibility a full monitoring stack usually costs a SaaS bill for.

Live dashboard

Unlimited targets, each polled on its own interval, updated instantly across every open tab.

Four check types

Ping, TCP, HTTP(S), and DNS — with human-readable failure detail, not raw error codes.

Uptime & latency

Rolling uptime ratio and latency sparkline per target, built from in-memory history.

Device panel

Interface, IP, DHCP, DNS, Wi‑Fi, traffic, gateway reachability, and a VPN/proxy heuristic.

Privacy by design

Only target configs touch disk. Nothing leaves your network except one optional public-IP lookup.

Quick start

# clone & enter git clone https://github.com/dwaidatta/ting-ping.git cd ting-ping # set up & run python -m venv .venv pip install -r requirements.txt cp .env.example .env python run.py

Open http://127.0.0.1:8420, click Add monitor, and watch it go live.

How it's built

A FastAPI backend runs one async scheduler loop per target — check, buffer the result, broadcast over WebSocket, sleep, repeat. The frontend is plain HTML/CSS/JS with no build step; a single WebSocket connection keeps every card, sparkline, and the device panel live.
